Hey there cuties! Neko Emoji-28 (Yay sho happy) [V2]

Since some people, for a looong time asked me to make tutorials here's some thingy for you~~
~~~~~ DOWNLOAD FOR FULL VIEW~~~~~
So here's my digital coloring progress for chibis! C: I'm awful at teaching so leave alone xD
Let's start this, step by step!
1-2. Lineart and base color - Well, you've finished your lineart so let's move to the base color, I use the skin lightest color because it's where I start working, all the skin area. Since I will work in sections every time I move to the part I will work I press "Preserve Opacity" in the layer I'm working fbcdn-sphotos-h-a.akamaihd.net… to make sure I'm only working on that part and don't mess the other colors.
3. Skin Coloring - Start shading the chibi skin, I shade ALL of the skin at once, having careful with the right shadows and light places. For the different tones of skin I usually take them from the refs given to me, if not I try to use different shades from the same color (3-4 shades), in order to make a interesting contrast... Then I do the face/head details (eyes, lips, nose, horns - in this case)
4. Hair coloring - Moving to the hair, I open a new layer and after outline and fill the hair zone I select "Preserve Opacity" again and start shading the hair. Since I'm quite lazy with coloring I try to give the best impression I can of the shadows and lights, but without many details (laaaazy). To give a cute touch and shine the face a tiny bit (since it there where the cuteness is...) I select the air brush and veeeery lightly (with the face color) color the hair near the face.
5. Clothes coloring - Woah! Big jump now! xD Well it's quite easy~ Basically is doing what I did to the hair, selecting other layer to each piece of cloth and painting it, be careful, they have to match each others since is a SINGLE outfit right? Usually I pick the parts with the same color or don't have much to shade, but if you're not used to paint all together then you should go piece by piece and make sure they match in shadows and lights!
6. Acessories/details - We're almost done! C: Okay so now let give details some love, they need to be colored too, right? Especially if they're important to the outfit. Select other layer and start~ Here for the fur I went a bit crazy and tried "Fibers 1" texture, lightly because fur is always a pain in the head to color because it need to look soooft... (Did I already said I'm lazy? |D)
7. Lineart coloring - Just to make the chibi a bit more interesting I like to add some color on the lineart, really lightly just in some parts to look more cute~
8. Sparklies and layer playtime! - Just before finishing I love to give some sparkle to the cutie and of course play with "Screen" or "Overlay" colorful layers. It makes the draw became for fun for the eyes~~
Be aware!!
If you tend to confuse the layers you're working on (I know how it feels...) when finished coloring the section you're on, and after make sure it's as you want MERGE THE LAYER DOWN, like that your finished work will be on one single layer as you move forward, for this chibi the maximum number of layer I've had has coloring the outfit and I had only four layer in total on work, so like I said if you confuse the layers like me I recommend you to merge them down once totally finished, it'll be less confusing~ Bear Emoji-01 (Good job) [V1]
And now you're done!! Since it's my first time teaching something, I hope it was clear... but if you still have questions don't be afraid and ask whatever you like~ I will try my best to give you the answer~ Kao Emoji-04 (Cute) [V1]
